For consistency across your Jira space, ScriptRunner is adopting the key terminology changes recently announced by Atlassian.

Over the last year or so, Atlassian has been updating key terminology across Jira Cloud. To give you consistency across your entire Jira space, these changes will be reflected in ScriptRunner from 11 March 2026.
This update is purely about terminology and is not a functional change. You can still expect the same features, the same workflows, and the same functionality. We’re simply renaming some things to match Jira Cloud.

What's changing

Here's a list of the key terms that will change on 11 March 2026:
  • Project(s) → Space(s)
  • Issue type → Work type
  • Issue → Work item
  • Issue view → View/Edit
  • Conditions → Restrict transition
  • Validators → Validate details
  • Post Functions → Perform actions

Where you'll see these changes

The updated terms will appear across the following areas of ScriptRunner:
  • Behaviours
  • Behaviours Bot
  • Scripted Fields
  • Script Fragments
  • Built-in scripts
  • Example scripts
  • Browse Page
  • Script Listeners
  • Scheduled Jobs
  • Workflows
  • Escalation Service
  • HAPI
    • Changes will be rolled out progressively throughout the month of March. This won’t affect compatibility with existing HAPI scripts.
