We’re excited to introduce Script Manager, a new way to organise, manage, and reuse your Groovy scripts directly within ScriptRunner for Confluence Cloud. If you regularly use the Script Console or manage multiple automation scripts, this update is for you.
Script Manager has already become a powerful way to organise and manage scripts in ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud. Now, it’s available in ScriptRunner for Confluence Cloud too.
It enables you to create, edit, save, delete, and rename scripts and folders within your instance without relying on FTP services or server administrators. With Script Manager, you can easily reuse and organize scripts in any of the Groovy code editors across your instance, making script management more efficient and accessible.
Why this matters
As automation grows, so does script sprawl.
Many administrators store scripts externally, in shared drives, repositories, or local folders and paste them into ScriptRunner when needed. This can make scripts harder to track, reuse, and govern.
Script Manager solves this by bringing script organisation directly into the ScriptRunner UI for Confluence Cloud.
What you can do with Script Manager
With Script Manager in ScriptRunner for Confluence Cloud, you can:
- Save Groovy scripts directly within the app
- Create folders to organise scripts logically
- Edit and maintain scripts in one central place
- Reuse scripts across multiple use cases
- Improve visibility and governance of automation
Everything lives inside ScriptRunner. No external storage required.
Built for teams scaling automation
This is especially valuable for teams with:
- Multiple administrators
- Growing automation complexity
- Shared script libraries
- Governance or compliance needs
Script Manager enables a more structured and scalable approach to scripting in Confluence Cloud, consistent with the experience Jira users already rely on.
What’s not changing
The Script Console continues to work as before.
Script Manager simply adds structure and persistence to your scripting workflow. There are no feature removals, only improved organisation and maintainability.
Start using Script Manager
If you’re already using scripts, we recommend:
- Creating folders based on team or use case
- Moving frequently used scripts into Script Manager
- Building a shared internal script library
